The GOP Energy Plan: ‘None of the Above’

Americans know it is time for an oil change – the Comprehensive American Energy Security and Consumer Protection Act passed by the House yesterday will lower costs for consumers, invest in clean, renewable energy resources, expand our domestic energy supply, and promote greater energy efficiency and conservation. Most Republicans voted ‘No.’

Instead of working with Democrats to bring relief to consumers, most Republicans have chosen to grandstand for cameras in the name of Big Oil rather than stand up for the American people. Time and again, Republicans have been given the opportunity to vote for an American-owned energy policy to bring down the price at the pump, increase fuel efficiency, invest in clean, renewable energy resources and protect our national security. And each time, a majority of House Republicans voted no.
