While some are using every means to undermine patients’ rights, we will continue to strongly oppose efforts by those who want to put insurance companies back in charge of health care, instead of patients and doctors.
Just today, the Department of Health and Human Services announced a critical step forward toward affordable, accessible health care for all Americans. With the proposed rule on tax relief, we are moving toward making health insurance dramatically more affordable.
This ruling would put the ban on discrimination against people with pre-existing conditions at risk. There have been and will continue to be a wide range of attempts to roll back the law, but as in previous court rulings across the country, I am confident that the Affordable Care Act will ultimately be sustained.
