I have no fear in allowing the House to work its will.
Despite wide support for the legislation in the House, Republican House leaders have signaled they have little interest in scheduling a vote. House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) has called the approach ‘dangerous,’ and has insisted he will resist pressure for a House vote.
American workers are losing their jobs because China manipulates its currency. If we passed legislation to level the playing field for American workers by holding countries accountable that create an unfair trade advantage by manipulating their currency, we could help create an estimated 1 to 1.5 million jobs here in America.
Last night the Senate passed legislation holding China accountable for currency manipulation by a vote of 63-35 – including 16 Senate Republicans voting in favor of the bill.
In the House:
176 Members have signed the discharge petition to force the bill to come to the floor for a vote.
When is Speaker Boehner going to let the House “work its will”?
