GOP Leader: ‘So, what’s the way forward?’

From GOP Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers in The Hill:

“… people look to us for direction and for the plan coming from the Republicans.  So, what’s the way forward?”

Excellent question!  In fact, Democrats and the American people have been asking that very thing since the GOP-led Congress began.  And as the numbers show – the American people aren’t happy with the direction Congressional Republicans are taking the country.

More than 8 in 10 (83 percent) Americans disapprove of the job Congress is doing – “an all-time high in a survey” – compared to just 12 percent who approve.

The top two reasons Americans gave for their disappointment and disapproval of Congress were partisanship and inability to get things done and the needs and challenges facing middle class Americans being ignored.

67 percent of those surveyed said Congressional Republicans are too focused on a partisan approach that does not unify the country – more than three times the number of those who said the GOP is interested in unifying the country in a bipartisan way (22 percent).

Americans are looking for job creation and economic growth, not more distraction, delays, and partisan message bills to nowhere.  House Democrats are ready to get to work and get the job done.
